ALOOOOOOOOOOOHA EVERYONE!!!
First day in the beautiful island of Oahu! The weather was just amazing for the majority of the day and made it more enjoyable!!
Today was divided in two groups… in the morning it was either catamaran or hiking up to the top of the Diamond Crater.
The hiking was pretty awesome! Even if it was tiring, it was worth it!! We hiked for three hours from the hotel, we took a lot pictures, we stopped to eat ice-cream (they were pretty good), put some (MORE) sunscreen, climbed a 297 stairs, to finally get on the top of the volcano which exploded 150 000 years ago!! The crater was HUGE! We saw the beautiful clear water with reefs. We saw the whole Downtown with all the buildings and skyscrapers of Honolulu and the whole beach of Waikiki.. BUT the most positive point is that we made it!! So we were ready for the SECOND half of the day.
The other half of the group went on a catamaran tour, and we also had fun! J It was a beautiful sunny day in paradise! The weather was absolutely perfect to get a tan. We took off from the amazing white sand beaches of Waikiki, to an adventure in the crystal clear waters. We were relaxing in the sun with a soft drink in our hand while listening to Hawaiian music. Sailing in the pacific ocean, looking at surfers, jet-ski and even whales. Also a great view of Waikiki beach, Diamond Head and the entire island of Oahu. It was so great!! J We also stopped for a while, and jumped in to the Pacific Ocean! A great experience!!
After some lunch, the two groups met at Waikiki beach for some surf lessons. After some explanations about how to stand up (and stay up), we went to the water to start “feeling” the WAVE! It was SO much FUN!! Some of us did pretty well and stayed up.
Great day!!! Tomorrow we will post more about our day in Paradise!
Aloha!
